OOC: The char who mine's supposed to be training with hasn't been on, so im just going to post like my char paired off with somone else for the time being.
IC:
Arili watched the steps and easily memorized them. She had been, from a young age, trained as a dancer. The majority of the class was clunky, and ungraceful. Even when looking at the experienced people, it still looked unnatural. She paired up with annother partner, hers was off getting a drink at the moment.
Arili took off her shoes and went through the steps a couple of times, without her partner defending, just to get the grasp of it. She thought of the whole thing as a dance. She relaxed and the movements started to flow like all her other movements when she danced for her owners freinds, like water. She let the movements come, like waves on an ocean, smoothly....naturally. Arili activated her saber, and her partner did likewise, and started with the attack half of the training. She let the movements flow, she didn't think , she just did, thats what happened whenever she learned a new dance, and, what happened now. She defended the whole series twice in a row successfully.
She went on the attack on the third time. She did the movements , and had to slow down for her partner. Her saber actually reminded her of the larger glow sticks that her owner let her use in the dark, when she danced. She thought of it as such, and she used it with the same grace. Her partner was slow, clunky, and unnatural, he moved like a protocol droid, not letting the movements flow, he was thinking about it. Arili had learned long ago, that if you think, you are not graceful. She had learned to trust herself to do it right, she let go of herself during her dancing, to, what she had been told was the Force, and her form of meditation was her dancing.
She was getting frustrated with her partner. He was slow, unnatural, and he was afraid of hitting a female. She looked at him, he was, sweating. She realized that the last time she had attacked it may have been to fast, and apologised. She, being condiontioned to this sort of activity, was just getting into it. She wanted more, but her partner needed to rest.
The most beautyful dances she had seen, or learned, were ugly compaired to the ones performed with a lightsaber, even these seemingly benign beginner movements made her more at one with the dance than any of the Twi'lek ones she had learned. She could feel everything when she was sparring with him, the walls, the fly on the ceiling, the other students.
Arili was loving it. She thought that she was going to struggle, but instead she was loving it. The thing she loved to do the most, the thing that took her away from it all, was the thing that these Jedi put so much emphasis on. When she was a Slave, she would practice to exhaustion, because she was able to let her body go and sence everything in the room, it was her escape, and he escape became her passion. Now, she was being taught new forms of her chosen art, and she wanted more.

He nodded to Cassus' statement. He agreed but many of the students had never wieleded a saber before. After all this was basic training. But was anything ever basic with the Jedi? This was more than training, it was the students first chance to meet together. Their first chance to forge bonds. Where he wanted certin students to grow and expierance more, it was not yet time.
He let the students practice for a few more minunets and watched Tal leave the room. He had a promice to keep to her. After the students had had ampel amounts of time to learn the very basics of lightsaber combat, he called them to order.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Alright, that is enough. Now every one of you have had their first Lightsaber expierance. Many of you have noticed that this is in fact, easy. Those of you with the insight to tell, the well of lightsaber combat grows vastly deeper with no holds.
"How you travel through the well of combat is strongly sided on which lightsaber form you choose. Now that your training lesson has ended, I will give you an overview of the Forms:
"Form "Zero": Not an actual form of lightsaber combat per se, Form Zero is the idea that a Jedi should know when to use their lightsaber and when to find another means to solve a problem. This was defined by Master Yoda to address the need of the Jedi to restrain themselves when tempted to use "Aggressive Negotiations," and instead use another well-developed Jedi skill, such as the Jedi mind trick. I recomend this above all.
Form I, Shii-Cho: As the weapons technology of the lightsaber was developed, the need for a form of combat arose. Thus Form I, also called Way of the Sarlacc, was born. Ancient sword-fighting traditions held key principles of blade combat that were implemented by early Jedi Masters in the rather basic technical tactics of Form I. A very basic form.
Form II, Makashi: After Form I's proliferation as a saber combat technique, Form II, or Way of the Ysalamiri, came about as a means of lightsaber-to-lightsaber combat. It is described as being very elegant, powerful, and requiring extreme precision, allowing the user to attack and defend with minimal effort, while his opponent tires himself out. The form relies on parries, thrusts, and small, precise cuts - as opposed to the blocking and slashing of the other forms. The blade manipulation required for this form is very refined and requires much focus, but the results are extremely potent. However, as ranged weapons such as blasters come into play, or more than one opponent is present, the advantages of this form become obsolete.
Form III, Soresu: Inspired by the need to parry blaster-fire, the form utilizes motions occurring very close to the body to achieve near-total protection, efficiently expending as little energy as possible to execute these moves. This technique exposes as little body target zone open areas as is possible, making a well-trained practitioner nearly invincible. Practitioners of Soresu comfortably remain on the defensive until their opponents tire or make a mistake, only then do they strike offensively. This is the Form I have mastered and chose to follow.
Form IV, Ataru: The master practitioners of the Way of the Hawk-Bat make extensive use of acrobatic maneuvers often thought not physically possible. This form was created during the last centuries of the Old Republic. Aayla Secura was a master of Ataru, according to Jan Duursema, who co-created the Twi'lek Jedi; Quinlan Vos had taught Aayla Form IV. In dire situations, Form IV practitioners use the Force to aid in their acrobatics. Spinning, jumping and running very fast and very high, masters of Form IV are sometimes only seen as a blur. In order to achieve the acrobatic prowess, amazing reflexes and physical punch of this form, a Jedi Master would focus on the Force, letting it flow deeply throughout his entire physicality, even allowing him to overcome the limitations of old age.
Form V, Djem So: Form V is a powerful style developed by Form III practitioners that preferred a more offensive angle. The defensive nature of Form III often leads to dangerously prolonged combat. This style came about from combining Forms II and III. The maxim "peace through superior firepower" encompasses the philosophy of Form V, also called the Way of the Krayt Dragon. Form V maintains its existence through having sufficient defensive skills, as derived from Form III, but channelling defense into offense. The example is commonly used that while Form III combatants effortlessly deflect laser bolts, Form V practitioners excel at redirecting the laser bolt toward the opponent. This simultaneously defends the user and efficiently injures the opponent. As well, it employs a basic form of Form II's parries, allowing the user to parry the attempted attack, and counter it. It is different from Form III in the fact that practictioners of Form V will press the assault, using wide, sweeping blows in an attempt to overwhelm the opponent with brute strength. The aggressive philosophy of Form V is the source of many a Jedi's disapproval.
Form VI, Niman: Form VI attempts to balance all elements of lightsaber combat, combining the Forms that came before into a less intensely demanding combat style. The result is that the users' skill in each individual areas of lightsaber combat is only moderate, making Form VI well suited for diplomats, as they can spend their time training in the areas of politics and negotiation instead of combat training. In fact, all of the Jedi using Form VI were killed at the Battle of Geonosis, including the Form VI practitioner Coleman Trebor, whose technique could not defend against Jango Fett's masterfully placed blaster shots.
Form VII, Juyo Dubbed the Way of the Vornskr, Form VII was an incomplete form for millennia. It was further developed by Jedi Master Mace Windu, who could complete it with his Vaapad fighting style. The most challenging and demanding of all forms, Form VII requires intense focus, high levels of skill, and mastery of other forms. Only three Jedi have ever mastered Vaapad fully: Mace Windu, Depa Billaba, and Sora Bulq, who instructed Quinlan Vos in a few of its basics. Sora Bulq helped Windu develop Vaapad, but Bulq proved too weak to master the flow of the Light and Dark Sides, and fell to the Dark Side. In this way, Vaapad mastered him. However, Vaapad borders on the edge of falling to the Dark Side, as it channels one's anger and darkness into the attack. Only Windu's mastery and concentration of the Light Side prevents him from succumbing, which is why Vaapad is rarely practiced and very dangerous. The two other known practitioners of Vaapad, Sora Bulq and Depa Billaba, both fell to the Dark Side of the Force. I strongly warn against this Form... If any of you atempt this form, tell me and together we will discuss it.
Form VIII, Sokan: Developed by the ancient Jedi Knights during the Great Sith War, Sokan combined tactics that allowed for evasion and mobility with the kinetic motions of Form IV combat. Sokan involved swift strokes of the lightsaber, which were aimed towards the opponent's vital areas in addition to quick tumbles and movements. Combatants made use of large amounts of terrain, trying to maneuver their opponents into vulnerable areas during the course of battles that involved Sokan techniques
Form IX, Shien: Shien uniquely involves a Jedi holding the lightsaber horizontally. The Jedi pointed the end of the blade at the opponent; it was swung in a fast arc while the Jedi punched his or her saber-hand at his or her opposing combatant. Almost like a fencing style.
Form X, Jar'Kai: The dual saber Niman permitted a Jedi to fight with two lightsabers, one in each hand. One of the blades in the wielder's hands was used for attacking while the other one was used for defending, such as parrying, or for more offensive power. Many Jedi trained to use the Niman style in the hopes of gaining a basic knowledge of the dual-bladed attack, but very few Jedi ever totally mastered Niman.
Form Xl: This Form is the same from form 1, exept different stike zones. - Stike Zones were 1 head, 2 left arm, 3 right arm, 4 left hip, five right leg, six left leg
Trà kata: This is a form of lightsaber combat unique to only one or two of the most powerful Jedi. The Jedi will keep the lightsaber in their grasp but will keep it turned off. The Jedi will then dodge or defend any attacks using the force. Some of the more skilled Jedi may launch attacks using the Force in between sweeps of the opponent's lightsaber. They will then wait to the right moment and swiftly turn the lightsaber on and off, sending the blade through the enemy's body. This will instantly wound or kill the apposing enemy. This technique is difficult to master and to use it the Jedi must be very powerful with the force. It is considered to be a dark form of combat as it takes the enemy by suprise and can be also used outside a lightsaber duel to dispose of somebody in close quarters. It is best used in lightsaber dueling but can also be used to avoid blaster fire.
"Now think carefully on this. Choose wisely, and then you will begin your real saber combat. That is your homework assignment. When you do pick a style, go to the Jedi Library and take a holo reading of that style. Then you begin your training on your own time. Let the Force guide you in your choices and learning.
"I am sorry for not being with you for every step of the way though I will step in to offer guidence when you need it. My comlink is always on and I am willing to help whenever you need it.
"You are dismissed."[/glow]
He watched the students prepair to leave but he called out to two of them.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Holt, Cassus. Please come with me."[/glow]
He waited for the two to comply before turning and walking from the Training Hall in the Academy.

Holt listened intently as Master Crane explained the various forms of lightsaber combat, wanting to make a decision without having to re-stufy each and every form in the library. He soon noticed, to his dismay, that each and every form was imperfect. Each one would be better suited against a certain type of opponent or a certain other form, ony to be bested by a different form. It seemed to Holt that the only wise choice would be to master all the forms, the effect being that one would be able to choose the best form for any particular fight. But even that seemed wrong. The rapid change from one form to another would be undoubtedly rigid and rough, eaving openings and harboring weaknesses. Any opponent who had also mastered all the forms would be able to exploit these weaknesses. A contest would be decided by the first chosen form, making the combat nothing more than a game of chance.
There had to be a better way. There had to be a way to combine all the forms together. Holt soon realized that even that would not work, as it would be the same as mastering them all. in the moment, Holt began to formulate a new idea. There would have to be a method in which one could perfectly adapt to any other form without changing their own.
His train of thought was interrupted by Master Crane's request that he follow him. Holt, having no reason to disobey, did as was requested of him and followed the Jedi Master along.

OOC: so what, I changed my mind on what style I want my char to learn.
Arili listened intently to Master Crane's description. She was interested in form IV and form IX, and decided to read up on them. She left when they were dismissed, and headed for her room, she hadn't had a shower in days, and had rushed to get to the training when she arrived.
When she finished in the shower she got into a new set of clothes, like the ones she was initally wearing, and headed for the library.
She got there and asked the librarian about form IV, and told her that she was a beginner. "go to aisle 4, its on the right side" she said, and Arili did so. She got to the holo book on it. she signed it out and headed for her room.
When she got there, she inserted it into the computer and started reading. The book was good for beginners, it explained what one did for each attack, and how to counter attacks. Also, it had visual demonstrations of attacks, defences, and the multitude of acrobatic manuvers that were involved in its use. She went to bed, about a quarter of the way though the book.
The next day she headed down to the training center , picked up a training saber and activated a Form IV training program, on "Basic" level. A Training droid walked out of a door in the wall, and activated a training saber. She activated hers. It initated the combat, a high right to lower left cut, she easily doged it and landed a hit. The droid then went from mid left to mid right, she blocked it, and allmost before she knew it, it was attacking her feet from the left, she did a quick sidestep to the left, and again landed a hit while it was off balance. The droid stepped back as did she, and they started again, it fenting to the left then attacking from the right, and this time it landed a hit, on her left shoulder, the electric shock made her jump, the training sabers had more punch then she thought. They started again, this time they blocked and parried for about 30 seconds, until she landed a blow on its right leg. It was becoming apperent that on the Basic setting, it was more Form I with a sprinkling of Form IV. She decided to step it up to "Basic - Intermediate" level, and they started again.
The droid did not wait for her to come to the middle of the room, it just attacked, and she barely had time to block the blow and dodge behind it. She swung for it and its saber blocked the blow, it came around and attacked from high left to low right, she just barely had time to block it, then, before she knew it, it attacked at her neck level, she tried to get her saber up but failed, she instead ducked her head, but not fast enough, the training saber hit her on the base of her right Leeku. (OOC: its like getting kicked in the nuts, to give you an idea) The pain seered throught her body, and she could barley see straight. She was shaking and was hardley able to stand up, let alone fight. The droid noticed , and went into standby, Arili managed to stumble to the door and deactivate the training system. She just sat there for about 20 minutes, trying to catch her breath, and was massaging the arguably most sensitive exposed part of her body. She put the training saber away and headed back to her room, her right eye still seeing stars.
Arili sat down and looked at herself, "That was stupid" she said to herself in the mirror, noticing the burn mark on her leeku, it stood out like a sore thumb because of the faint white markings on them. Apperently they used a higher setting for the intermediates also. She found out the hard way, and decided to read up more on form IV, and practice Form I to get her reflexes up, that droid was fast.
After annother solid day of reading, she had finished the holobook on basic Form IV. And decided to try again. She went back to the training area, and activated the droid on Basic Intermediate level. "I will win" she said to herself, as the droid jumped in the air to launch an attack. She blocked it, and dodged to the right, swinging left to right in the process, it managed to block, but just barely. She pressed the attack, going from left to upper right. It dodged and attacked, but she flipped out of the way. and attacked from its other side, scoring a hit. "Ha!" she said. The acrobatic aspect of the form was easy for her, it was the blocking and knowing when to attack that was the issue. Dodging was no big deal, she had seen on the holobooks how to do so properly, and she had remembered to just do, don't think, and it worked. She decided to train for the rest of the day, she needed it.
OOC: if anyone else wants to join in and train with my char, its cool with me

Cassus already knew which style he would learn and practice the second it left master Crane's lips. Shii-Cho wasn't ment for him, it was something else, more powerful, challenging and difficult. Form VII: Juyo. He smiled, just thinking about it. There was also other styles he'd like to master, like Trakata. He stood up, prepared to take a trip to the library, but he was being called over by Master Crane.
He looked at Holt for a moment, then followed Holt to the Jedi Master. "What is it?" he asked as they approached.

When Chris reached the outside he felt himself enter a place he loved to visit. A night time Ossus. He took in a beep breath, he hated what he had to do. Times like now only screamed the warnings of the Past. History was about to make the next step in the endless waltz of time. History was about to repeat.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Cassus, Holt. Time is short so I ask you for understanding. You have 2 hours to gather your equipment. Go to the station near the obstacle coarse and gather a utility belt and survival pack. Get two training droids from the training center and meet me in the hanger in two hours.
"Cassus, this would be the time for you to turn your lightsaber back from training. Hurry now, two hours and you begin your first mission."[/glow]
He gave them a moment to absorb his words and then he took off toward the dorms. He felt a disturbance in the Force that ran shutters down his spine. Time was not an ally in this mission so he would have to be quick. Once more he felt the Force draw companions together. And once more he felt as if he was losing another chance to speak with Sanarial.

No more than fifteen minutes after Master Crane gave him his orders and left, Holt was waiting in the hangar, items in hand. He had not brought anything with him but the clothes he was wearing and the stone spearhead he brought everywhere, and that was around his neck currently. Nelvaans traveled light, a trait he would soon ern beneficial to the way of the Jedi.
He waited patiently, as questions began forcing their way into his thouhgts. At first, Holt had no reason to question Master Crane, as the orders were simple and he had no reason to worry about the events to come. The only challenge to fear would be combat, which was inevitable, it was all a part of the Great Hunt. And Holt was more than ready, even without a non-training lightsaber or any other form of weapon. Now it was. The calm before the storm.

As Master Crane stepped outside he drew his hood over his head. He could tell that it was about to storm. It seemed as if the weather here on Ossus followed the general feeling of the people living there. Hours before the day was fine and warm. Now Stormy. And stormy was the best way he could describe his feelings inside.
Silently he came up behind Holt. He was not surprised that the boy had been so quick to order but he did notice that he had not picked up his utility belt.
[glow=blue,2,300]"You may have wanted the belt. Its a trademark of the Jedi you know. Not only does it give you a place for your lightsaber, but the nutrition capsules are not bad. And the liquid cable launcher may prove useful. Not only can it help you scale large obstacles, you would have no need for that, but it proves as a diverse weapon against for that are tuned saber fighters.[/glow]
His words were shells. They were meant to clam both the boy and the master. They were not meant to inform the boy but to establish a relationship before the mission got underway.

Sabre had sat next to the fountain, unfortunatly distracted by a butterfyr that sat on the windowsill. She had touched it's mind an was examinating it, brushing it like an artist would paint a scene in their mind. It wasn't complex but she was intrigued by it's senses. She could smell everything it smelled. The sweet flowers, the dewed grass, her. She smelled like an ocean. Salty but alive. She felt it's enhanced sight, it's taste. There was the lingering taste of necter, probably form some foriegn flower. All she couldn;t do is hear what the butterfly was hearing. There was a buzzing as if the Force wanted her to listen like the butterfly but she truly, deep-down didn't. She must have sat there for a while, feeling the butterfly flex it's wings, twitch it's antenae or just shift weight. It didn't move as if it knew someone was observing it. Sabre sat peacefully, running her hands over the subtle edge where water met air in the fountain. Ripples tickled her hand before she reaized a new noise. The sound of Jedi Padawans leaving. She instantly came back to Sabre and scrambled up, water splashing her. She was able to catch a glimpse of purple wings before the butterfly left. Feeling rather guilty missing the rest of the lesson and ran down the hall, trying to catch up to one of the walking apprentices. It was no use. All she could do was go up to her room and sleep perhaps. She didn't feel all that tired, or hungry. Or... anything except guilty and rather regretful. "Perhaps the library would be the best place. Read up on lightsaber forms and crash there?" She mumbled to herself, "Yes. Sounds excellent."

A jedi star fighter lands on a pad and a small droid pops out. Cole opens the cockpit door and falls out of the ship with his lightsaber still ignited in his hand. Also he has a lightsaber in his other marked with Nexus on the base.

Cole finally wakes and notices his leg, scared with the Lightsaber we was not ment to have. The Sith had cut deeply into it. He looked at his lightsaber and dis-engaged it then put it on his belt. He looked at his other hand, it also had a lightsaber in it, this one was red. Cole dis-engaged that one and threw it into the ship, which was in perfect condition. Cole looked over to his droid and looked closely at it. It was marked, 'S4-G4'. He stood up and fell onto the wing of the ship, then climbed back in. He had something he had wanted to do for quite a while. He closed the Cockpit door and took off.

Kaja saw the young man stumble out of his ship and fall to the ground. He was going to go over and make sure he was ok but something stopped him. His old master had always told him to be more observant and so he was. He hid behind a wall to see what was going on and to see if the young man was alright or if he should go and get help from master Cris or master Tal. Hw watched as the young man disengaged his lightsaber and through the other one into his ship. Then he watched him fly off. Kaja tried yelling after him:
[glow=blue,2,300]Wait! Stop! I can help you! What's wrong?![/glow]
But he was too late. If something was wrong then he missed his chance to help. Kaja felt really bad about it and decided to go and find either Tal or Chris and tell them what he'd seen.
