Talau looked round, feeling a new presence come to the training room and smiled.
[glow=9999ff,2,300]Come in young one, we don't bite anything but our food here...no need to be nervous.[/glow]
She said with a chuckle.
[glow=9999ff,2,300]Get yourself a training saber and come join the others, you've not missed much.[/glow]
She added, before turning to the rest of the group.
[glow=9999ff,2,300]Good, I see that some of you already have your sabers ignited....now, can anyone tell me what the name of the first form of saber combat is?[/glow]

Arili smiled, then walked over to the box and grabbed one of the training sabers. She was nervous, all the other students seemed to be more advanced. One even had his own lightsaber. She was having second thoughts about this whole "Jedi" deal, but then she realized that she had spent 500 credits to get here, there was no way she was going to leave, after spending that much money, without learning at least something. 'Your here and your sticking with it.' she thought ot herself.
She looked at the saber for a second, before activating it. It was a shiny tube, about 30cm long, with a button and a knob on it. She took it, aiming it away from her self and pressed the activation button. A blue saber erupted from the hilt. It seemed a little long, but she'd get used to it, she thought, walking back to join the others
She listened to the question, having no clue what she was talking about. 'There are forms?' she thought.

Cassus acknowledged the presence of another Padawan, a Twi'Lek. He flashed a friendly smile in her direction then looked back at Talau to answer her question. "The first lightsaber form, Form one, is called Shii-Cho, Master." He touched the intensity dial on his lightsaber and carefully turned it down to training, which only gave off a mild sting when it touched someone. He really didn't want to hurt Holt, he was right afterall, a lightsaber would go through almost anything.

[glow=9999ff,2,300]Very good Cassus. Yes youngling, there are quite a few forms...but those come later...right now we are only concerned with the first form...the most basic of fighting styles with a saber.
What is your name?[/glow]
She asked with a smile, pulling Talon off of her belt, and turning the intensity down to training, before igniting hers as well, feeling her smile growing brighter as the familiar purple blade slid smoothly from the hilt, pulsating with the energy runing through it.

"Greetings new one. Welcome to our training session." Sabre remarked dryly, eyes flickering back and forth. This... was getting... boring. Her feet started hurting. A nine-year old couldn't keep up with a fifteen year old really well now could they? Sweat drizzled down her square jaw, making it look shiny. You couldn't see the distressed look in the green eyes because they were closed but believe me they looked as if she was in pain .

Chris knelled down to the young girl named Sabre. He could physically and mentally tell that the girl was fading, fast.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Sabre, I want you to go get a drink from the fountain over there. Try to cool down for a bit. I suggest you go to the locker room and pick out a lighter training tunic. Try and hurry because I would like you to partner off with Arili.
"Oh, and keep your chin up. There are much more exciting maneuvers that just turning the lightsaber on." [/glow]
He smiled trying to encourage the girl to keep her head in the moment. He understood that she was younger than many of the other students. But she could do things already that others in the Order could not at ages far above her own. He would keep a watch on her, if she did not improve, he would send her to either watch or to her dorm to get some rest for tomorrow.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Now Master Firians, let us demonstrate the basics of Shii-cho. Watch our feet and movements. Take note on how I respond to her attack."[/glow]
He stood off to Talau. He brought his blade up to a salute and then around to his side opposite from his left hand in a sign telling Tal that he was ready. His blade melded into his hand and became nothing more than an extension. A deadly extension.

Talau smiled slightly, stepped back a pace and saluted as well. Flipping Talon over in her hand once, she took her rather unusual stance, which looked to be nothing more than another version of standing, though slightly more tense.
She stepped foreward with her right foot, bringing her saber up to cut through the air toward Chris' head at a parallel to the floor. Her weight shifting smoothly from back to center to front, then back to center as she brought her left foot foreward to meet the right.

Arili watched the exchange between saber and Master Crane, and saber head off for a drink. She did look awful, Arili felt sorry for her, having to keep up with people 6 and 7 years older than herself.
OOC: Was the "What's your name" directed at me? Im going to assume it is, if its not, then I can change the post to reflect that.
IC: Arili took a second to realize that she was being asked a question. She looked up at the teacher who asked, and responded "Arili Annunaki, and you?"

((yep it was to you))
Talau didn't respond as she was in the middle of a demonstration with Master Chris, but she noted the girl's name for future refferance.

(Thanks for the reminder... so needed.)
Touching the edges of the Force, Chris responded to the beat of the battle, small as it may be, that Tal instated. In one flowing graceful arc, he simultaneously swept his blade over his head and met Talau's with a firm parry and retreated with his left foot.
It was at this moment that he would normally begin an attack that would test the Defense of his opponent, but this was a simple attack and defense demonstration.
[glow=blue,2,300]"You see, easy does it. Many Jedi go over board in their attack and defense tactics. Where this makes a nice show for the Holo Net, in some instances it is not needed.
"Now Master Talau, try a combination attack. Same as before students. Watch our feet movement, and the motions of the blades."[/glow]

Holt watched intently. He did not watch the motions of Masters Firians and Crane, nor their footwork. Neither did he watch the manner in which they gripped their lightsabers, nor did he even watch the masters. No, Holt had learned all of this before. He knew footwork, he knew swordsmanship, he knew combat. The one thing he did not know about was the weapons that Masters Crane and Firians used.
He came to see what he already knew. He knew that the lightsabers would have to be able to cut through neary anything, except themselves. And though the vibrations given off by the power cells of each were very different, neither one was abe to penetrate the other. Holt stored this information away, knowing that he would one day need it. But, admist the clash of the sabers, Holt noticed something else.
The two different energies within the sabers were far from constant. While they were ignited, they stayed fairly constant, but when two struck together, the energies seemed to weaken, the vibrations lesser. It was possible that the two expended more energy to maintin contact with one another. If this was true, then the kickback would cause an actual repeling action between the two sabers, meaning two things. One: that two sabers woud never be able to touch at the tips or at two points, and two: that the repeling energy was stronger than the normal energy of a lightsaber. Holt would remember that.

Ooc: Sorry I haven't been posting. I've just completed a trip from Arizona to Port Arthur Tx, back down to Valejo CA. So sorry though.
- Va'al nodded his head as Master Talau went back into the room. There was a reluctance to go back inside of the training room, feeling embarassed to say the least. He let his emotions get the best of him, and that was unacceptable. He heard the low "whirr" or training sabers and turned to step back inside. He watched Master Crane intently. His eyes turned to the Twi'lek girl off to his left. He lifted his training saber up, igniting the green blade with a slight smile. A smile that looked like he was about to swallow a bantha whole. The whole time he kept his eyes on the two masters. Shii-Cho was interesting, but in Va'al's mind it was nothing compared to the grace and integration with the force such as Soresu. Yet he merely waited until he was called upon for instruction...like a good padawan would. -

He shrugged thinking about the lesson. Rather than show them maneuvers of Shii-Cho, he would rather have them practice combat with the____________ he lightsaber. He stepped back from Master Talau and offered a respective bow. After all, Shii-Cho was a basic attack and response form.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Well, now that many of you have seen your first lightsaber clash, it is time you experience it. I want you all to pair off and practice the basic five step.
Before you begin I want you to Pick out who will be on the offense and who will be on the defense. Let me demonstrate the basic five-step.
"First the aggressor:[/glow]
Master Crane started by swinging his blade form the right-to-left attack followed by a Left-to-right attack both at the midsection. Then he shifted his weight and attacked right-to-left and then left-to-right to the mid thigh. Finally he completed the five step with an attack over the head.
[glow=blue,2,300]"And now the defense."[/glow]
He slowly showed the students the counter to each of the moves. Guiding them through he steps smoothly.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Now, double check the settings on your blade. Make sure the blades are set to training. Then pair off and begin. After three sets, switch attacker and defender. Begin."[/glow]
Now Chris deactivated his blade and began roaming the room. He kept a close watch on each of the students and exerted himself through out the room offering a guiding touch when a foot was out of place.

Holt did not have to check his saber, he already knew that the vibrations coming from it were too weak to be anything other than the training level. He could feel it in his hairs. The Nelvaan turned to face Cassus. He again drew the saber across his torso in an obvious, yet unorthodox defensive stance.
Nelvaans had two different kinds of combat. Defending and Hunting. When not on the hunt, Nelvaans, being a peacful people, alwyas waited for the opponent to attack first. This had three advantages. One was certain their opponent was hostile. One had a better chance of predicting their opponent. And defensive stances were always stronger.

- Va'al nodded his head, following every word Master Crane had to offer. He looked down at his training saber, scratched and worn from many hours of practice. He almost gave a shrill draethos laugh as Master Crane instructed them to keep their sabers on stun. His went no higher then training, his master making sure of that after an incident with some singed robes and a malfunctioning training remote. When it came time to pick a partner Va'al looked over the other students. Holt and Cassus were paired, that was no supprise. He turned to the Twi'lek girl and then he looked about for the young human girl that piqued his interest due to her dwelling upon the force. -

OOC: Defense is always stronger hey? Then Holt should learn Soresu Cassus checked his lightsaber, just to make sure he hadn't accidentally bumped it up any higher, or lower for that matter. He turned to face Holt and bowed respectfully, a smile on his face. "Well, I guess I'm attacking first," he said, observing Holt. He flipped it around once in his hand before going into stance, in blade horizontal in his hands. He nodded to Holt and a moment later began the first step of the attack, taking a light swing, locking with Holt's for only a moment. Then he slowly went around to the next step, going slow on purpose to let Holt adapt to the steps. When all five were done he reset, and said, "All right, I'm going faster now." He again started at the first step.

The steps were, at first, very straightforward and simple. But soon, instinct and fifteen years of combat trainging took over. Holt had watched the Masters demonstrate the form Shii-cho. It was simple, basic, and weaker. It would be easily defeated. And Holt had been taught to never train oneself to be weak. He took his lightsaber in one hand and parried each one of Cassus's attacks easily and effectively. Child's play.

He continued the steps until he'd finished it a second time, then suddenly deactivated his lightsaber and sat down. "I'm sorry Holt, I'm trying to do this but if you won't dedicate yourself to the training, then there's no point." There really was no point, Holt had lived with combat his whole life, and Cassus already knew this. He took a deep breath to banish the frustration from within him, then faintly smiled at Holt. "Hold on a second," he said.
He stood up and walked over to Master Crane and asked him something quietly, so that no others could hear.

((erg! >_< ))
Talau moved around the small class of students correcting their basic mistakes, when suddenly she felt a surge of pain rush through her, nearly knocking the wind out of her. She reeled inwardly for a moment, before moving shakily over to Chris.
She knew this feeling....this was the feeling of death...the feanturi had suffered yet ANOTHER loss, and the situation was getting desperate.
[glow=9999ff,2,300]Master....I....I need to leave for a few moments....I will return when I can.[/glow]
She said quietly to him, not meeting his eyes, before walking swiftly from the room.
