((since Jenno takes forever....Daeron is back))
Daeron walked through the halls of the southern temple...the fire temple. His cloak swished along behind him lightly as he walked, his golden eyes sweeping the halls he walked through. He had only recently returned from Ossus with Jenno and he was glad to be back at his home temple.

Verena coolly closed her eyes as she took in an excited breath, a habit she had adopted after years of training. It was how she always started her sessions and while its original purpose was to calm her, she found it just flooded her body with tingling waves of anticipation. It wasn't a problem for her however as she enjoyed the feeling.
Opening her eyes she drew her katana and while gripping the hilt with both hands brought it up to bare in front of her, having the tip face forward. Then without warning she let out a passionate shout as she brought the blade over her head and swung it down, but the first move of an intricate dance of slashes, jabs and arcs; which she intended to perform for the next hour.
It was a slightly monotonous way of training and slightly aggressive but Verena found it helped her think. Sometimes she'd fall so deep into her thoughts she'd actually forget she was wildly attacking the air around her.

Daeron heard the shout and walked into the training rooms, leaning against the door frame, his arms folded infront of him as he watched the girl training. She was good, that was true, but she lacked technique and finess that came from training with others.
[glow=blue,2,300]Try bringing the katana down at an angle in an arch. That will give you more speed on your next upswing.[/glow]

Verena jerked to a stop as she heard the interruption, surprised as she wasn’t expecting anyone; especially since she went through the trouble of finding out the times when she could train in peace. There was just something about having the entire training room for herself that she enjoyed as she could just let loose.
Pulling herself back from her thoughts however, she regained her composure and turned to face the rather handsome looking newcomer. He looked to be a Feanturi knight -or that could have just been wishful thinking on Verena’s part, since she had yet to find a master- but otherwise she wasn’t sure who he might be.
Verena bowed out of habit in respect, something she had picked up from her rather formal style, before straightening up and speaking.
“Umm, thanks I guess… sorry but can I help you?”
She was just praying that he didn’t need her for any tasks or the like because she was quite happy training. Feanturi or not, she could be a pain about these things. It’s why she lacked the stripe that marked most Feanturi, she totally wasn’t going to let them muss her do.

He chuckled slightly and shook his head, straightening up and walking into the room.
[glow=blue,2,300]Try it again please...by the way, I'm Daeron. Your name?[/glow]
He asked, standing a few feet away from her on the training floor. Daeron knew he wasn't very good at small talk, he never had been, and most times he preferred to be alone, but there was something about this girl that made him at least want to TRY to be friendly.
Daeron flipped one side of his cloak over his shoulder and pulled back his hair, tying it up out of his face. He gazed intently at her, waiting for her answer.

She couldn’t help but quirk an eyebrow at him as he chuckled, curious about what was on his mind and what he found so amusing. She absently brushed a lock of hair behind her ear as she pondered this but was taken aback as she heard him speak again and found him standing right by her. Noting his gaze she felt a blush coming on as she thought, “What’s with that intense look…”
She quickly tried to gather her thoughts however and after a swift glance to the side she looked back to him and smiled nervously. She considered that he might be judging her style on her next attempt and so couldn’t help but feel a little edgy.
“Sure… Also, I’m Verena; my bad…”
After apologizing for not introducing herself sooner, she turned on her heel and brought her blade back to its starting position. She felt that the hilt felt a little clumsy in her hands this time, she nonetheless steeled herself for the task at hand and proceeded with the suggested strike, forgoing the shout this time around. This time her blade cut the air at an angle on her first swing allowing for her to ease the blade into an upward thrust, just as he suggested. Smiling as she grew more confident, she finished it off by curling the blade around into a side slash, her grip feeling a lot more solid now. Considering the changes she turned once again to face Daeron, her previous embarrassment forgotten.
“Thanks, that actually worked out a lot better.”

[glow=blue,2,300]Your welcome Verena. I'm glad that it helped.[/glow]
He said simply and smiled slightly. He was glad that she had forgotten her embarrassment.
[glow=blue,2,300]Forgive me if I seem gruff, but it is in my nature...I'm just glad that you got over your embarassment. I'm not one to judge others swiftly.[/glow]
He said bluntly, fixing his gaze on her once more, after his eyes swept the room once more.
[glow=blue,2,300]Now, this time try to move from your wrist and fingers, not so much from your shoulder...it will keep your shoulders more relaxed and help you move more fluidly.
Raise your sword.[/glow]
He instructed and pushed on her shoulders to make them relax as she did so, then guided her wrist to swing the sword in a circle next to them.
[glow=blue,2,300]Like that....now...try again.[/glow]

“I'm just glad that you got over your embarassment.”
These words rang in her ears for a moment as she felt her cheeks grow hot again and she stifled the urge to mutter, “Gee, thanks a lot…” She actually thought she had done a pretty good job of hiding it before, that or she was in denial that she had not. Either way, she found it ironic that she was embarrassed about being embarrassed this time around.
It was then that she felt she could almost be knocked over by the second realization. He had said, “I’m not one to judge others swiftly.” She doubted it was coincidence and had already surmised, with a little shock, that he had read her mind.
It reminded her of the times her parents used it when she was a child and the many foiled cookie jar attempts because of it, but she could never shake the uneasiness she felt when she realized her mind was being read. Even when considering the fact she had grown up with it.
Perhaps to the Feanturi it was natural but for one who couldn’t return the favour of having an open book for a mind, it was a little unsettling. As she was debating this in her mind, she caught only a little of what Daeron had said and only once he had moved up behind her to guide her movements did she snap back to reality, her heart skipping a beat in the process. In an attempt to focus she tried to keep her mind on the training and the tips he was giving her.
Once he had demonstrated and asked her to try it again, she attempted to use the momentum from the sequence to calm her as it had before. She was a bit tense on her first try and so failed to achieve the fluid movement but upon the second try she felt herself relax a bit and thought it went a lot smoother.

[glow=blue,2,300]I'm sorry if I made you tense. I don't mean to, honestly. I am just trying to teach you as I was taught.[/glow]
He said, noticing her becoming tense once more. He didn't like this effect that he seemed to have on others...it made him squeemish in a way...though it was more so with her, and he wasn't sure why.
[glow=blue,2,300]Maybe I had better leave this to your Illorn....where is your Illorn anyway?[/glow]
He asked, wanting to change the topic suddenly. He gazed out at the hallway once more and sighed slightly, pulling his saber out and ignited it, the blue and gold of his saber a comfort once it was in his hand once more. He swung it lightly around, his cape swishing around him because of his fluid movements.

She paused for a moment as he apologized and listened as he asked about her Master, after which her face appeared to grow darker and a little sullen. She looked down before replying.
“I don’t have a master… my bad though for concentrating on studies which didn’t correspond with the training we were offered. It’s all about priorities I guess…”
Feeling a little sorry for the Feanturi knight, especially considering her awkward behaviour she tried to lighten the mood. She gave him a cheerful smile as she explained why she appeared tense.
“Sorry for putting you off, I really do appreciate the tips, I guess I’m just a little uncomfortable with the idea that you can look up whatever I’m thinking whenever you want. Sheesh, sometimes I wonder why I bother talking.”
It was then that Verena got an idea while watching Daeron practice some lightsaber motions; lifting her blade with a single hand she pointed it directly at Daeron and with a determined look challenged him.
“Hey, why not try a duel? I’d love to test out the tips you showed me. Also, maybe with some luck, I might even teach you something.”
She almost giggled at that thought.

He looked at her oddly as she spoke, tilting his head to the side slightly.
[glow=blue,2,300]I never read your mind. It's against my morals to do such things unless I absolutely have to. My mother taught me better than that....
No, everything i've said, I've said because of how you stood, or held yourself.[/glow]
He said, but straightened and went into a simple form two stance.
[glow=blue,2,300]If you like I could take you on. I've no retawan, and I'm of knight status.[/glow]
He stated, his intense gaze fixed on her eyes as he spoke, waiting for her first movement.

OOC: PM'ed your Tal account.
IC: She gave a small nod as he explained how it actually was just coincidence, although she found what he had to say next piqued her interest the most.
Verena could barely contain herself as Daeron finished speaking. In one quick motion she sheathed her katana, produced a single lightsaber and flicked the switch, allowing it to buzz to life. With a mischievous grin she returned Daeron’s intense gaze with her own determined look before replying.
“How could I refuse such an offer?”
She had switched to lightsabers since she wasn’t confident enough with the katana to be sure she’d not hurt someone in a training session.
With that said Verena came to life and in a single burst of energy dashed towards Daeron, holding the lightsaber in such a way that the tip was almost trailing across the floor behind her. She knew that her first attack would most likely be blocked easily and while she was ready for a possible parry, she also was counting on the fact that she might be able to lock sabers with him and thus even the playing field. After all, her style was one that relied on defense and so she was at a slight disadvantage at the moment.
In one swift movement, she closed the gap between herself and Daeron and swung her saber into an upward arc.

Daeron simply stepped out of the way of the saber's movement, not even flinching as it passed by his face, the color of it glowing on his eyes. In the next movement he turned and was behind her, but didn't move his saber from it's original position.
[glow=blue,2,300]Good, but next time, try taking into account that your enemy might move instead of block.[/glow]

“Tch…”
Verena’s face contorted into one of frustration as her knuckles grew white from how tightly she was gripping the hilt of her blade. It lasted for but a second however before she was able to force a smile and turn to face Daeron to respond to his comment, her grip having loosened somewhat.
“Ah, I keep forgetting how fast the Rilan are… once again then?”
Giving off a short sigh, she moved into her combat stance before pushing off into a dash towards Daeron again. She had a calm but determined look in her eyes as she neared her target and readied her saber for a side slash. This time she was prepared for Daeron’s possible evasion however and had already played out a few of the possible scenarios in her mind.
If Daeron ducked under her slash, she’d go for a shot with her knee and if he attempted to sidestep it, she was prepared to use the momentum from her swing to perform a circle kick. Of course, there was no such thing as a perfect plan but she was going to do her best to avoid any further humiliations.

Daeron sighed. Speed had nothing to do with it....again he had said the wrong thing. His only intention was to get her thinking before she fought...something that could save her life. Bringing his saber upward, he deflected her slash with a sweep of his arm before taking a sweeping kick at her feet, hoping to knock her off of them.
She had thought of his ability to move, but now she'd forgotten his ability to counter her attack. Yet another deadly mistake.

Verena smirked as she made contact and spotted the incoming sweep, which in truth she knew she could dodge but had another idea; she actually let it make contact. Using the momentum from the fall, she landed on her hands and like a spin top forced herself to perform a single whirl, finishing it off by kicking out with both her legs in an attempt to strike Daeron with a powerful blow.
"Oh yeah, whose down with the force!" was all Verena was thinking about as she giggled on the inside.
In truth it had more pizzazz than anything else, but Verena just felt like having a little fun in that instant. She was actually quite ready to pull back should anything go wrong which would result in another stand-off but this didn’t bother her too much.

Daeron laughed and braced himself against the blow, barely budging as it hit him in the stomach. As she hit him, he grabbed her around the ankels with his left arm and held her there so that she was at an akward angle to the floor.
[glow=blue,2,300]Well...fancy meeting you here. Are you comfortable?[/glow]
He teased lightly, his eyes becoming a dark purple in his happiness. It had been a long time since he'd seen anything new, and this was most certainly new to him.

Verena actually flinched slightly as she almost tumbled forward after hitting Daeron but was saved as she felt something lock around her ankles. Well, sort of saved considering she was now standing on her hands. Curiously, she turned to get some perspective on her situation and was greeted by a purple eyed Daeron with a grip on her ankles. She wasn’t certain of the exact meanings behind the colours but from what she could remember, purple was a good one. She feigned a pout in Daeron’s direction before accusing him.
“Ah, cheater!”
Of course, she had nothing to back it up, but felt it had to be proclaimed before she began squirming playfully as if to break free.

He laughed again and shook his head at her as she started squirming around 'trying' to get free.
[glow=blue,2,300]I think not lass....If i let you go you'll fall flat on your face. And I hardly ever cheat.[/glow]
He teased, lowing her carefully to the ground before letting her go.
[glow=blue,2,300]You still have some learning to do, but you're good...you have more potential than you know.[/glow]
He said, reaching out a hand to help her up.

A sly grin played across her lips as she noted he did not deny it outright and so she decided to poke a bit of fun.
“Oh, but you do cheat? Tsk tsk, it’s the little things that do it in the end you know…”
She pretended to be all serious as she berated him, even though she still had nothing on him actually cheating, or doing anything else wrong at that. She accepted his offered hand and pulled herself up before continuing.
“I mean, it all starts with stuff like that self-indulgent extra scoop of vanilla ice cream and before you know it, you’re building an armada with a plan to conquer the galaxy!”
She splayed open her arms as if to emphasize the enormity of it all before ending it with another mischievous grin. It had been fun and she actually felt as if she had made a lot of progress during the session, even more so than usual but she figured it was best to get going. Her tone became a little more serious as she spoke.
“Anyway, thanks for all your help, I really appreciated it…”
She bowed in respect.
