Well I say we start fresh just to kick off the rechristening of this site. It's all good that we have an existing story, but to be honest if we're taking this site back then I think we should start anew. Just my opinion folks.

i think nikos has a good point.
Originally i was gonna vote to delete all old posts, but keep the characters....however, with us retaking the site, it's a good idea to star from scratch I suppose. ^_^

Well, I've got no connection to the plot yet, so it's no different for me, I don't think. But as for you guys, you've got a few things to look at. You probably have characters that you really enjoy playing, and may not want to lose, but a wipe gives you a chance to sort of remake your characters, maybe change something about them, as well as have the option for a completely new character.
Either way you go about it, you can always get those characters back (including ones that have been killed off in the past, so consider that) as well as go with completely new characters. For new players, breaking into a completely fresh plot is a lot less intimidating as jumping in. It's lot less to remember about the current plot and such.
Of course, you could always say the past is the past, and put the current plot in the archives, and just move the setting forward a certain amount of years.
Haha... I'm rambling...

start new. It would be nice to have fresh characters
but we should archive the characters and former plot for referance to how we want it to look.

As I've said before, I'm willing to make new characters once things get going. If not, we could always just, I dunno, work together on both timelines. Might help us out in our down season.

I'm just a n00b here...haven't even really posted anything. Your plot always confused me, and even reading through(skimming, really) the plot outline I couldn't figure anything out. I would love to see the forum start anew with a plot really connected to canon SW(ie no Regency, I had, and still have, no idea who they are).

Webster defines regency as the government of a nation in the absence of the sovereign. ...though, to be fair, I have no clue who the sovereign was. That was before even MY time. But, just so you know, things here have sort of ground to a halt. ...which is why the site's community has been shifted to the following URL, with a brand new, open-ended plot. swrponline2.proboards107.com/
