Little bits of imaginary snow carried along a simulated frozen gust of wind flutter past the open door to holo-room 3, but the former of the two almost instantly vaporize after leaving the plane of the door. It is all a simulation. A phantasm. An optical illusion. Yet, it looks and feels so real. The mountains mountains that are dotted with the occasional bush loom in the distance and roll down to a massive frozen tundra. This tundra is where the doorway leads, which is surrounded by a massive arctic waste that has a certain foreboding about it.
Surely, only the strangest of beings would want to visit this simulacrum for pleasure. There is the occasional gust of loose snow that is carried by a strong gust of wind, but other than that there is simply no life along the horizon. The star, which looks so brilliant and powerful as it hangs in the sky, does very little to warm up anything about the icebound fantasy world.
As you step through these doors the cold biting winds tear at your cheeks, almost instantly turning them flush. The water in your eyes becomes stale and dries quickly, leaving a scratchy sensation on the surface beneath the eyelids. As you wipe away the mucus starting to dribble down and out your nose, you blink a few more times and walk forwards into the icy fields, towards a mass of trees and what appears to be a lodge. The ice crunches with each step you make, crackling and crunching.... till finally you arrive at the lodges door, not but meters away from a path that arks up the hill in the trees for hiking.
Pushing the door open, you walk into a cozy warm lobby-esque room with a fire place and couches. There is a large holo-projector, for those who are so engrossed in their soap operas.... and then there seems, upon further inspection a stairway that leads to the dormitories. Turning around and heading back down the stairs, you feel the slights breeze from the door as a few flakes of snow fly into your face.
As you sit on the couch in front of the fire. you look through the menu screen, built into the table, which seemingly explains the many activities that occur or can be activated in this holo room. On the list you notice the hiking trail from earlier, a mention of sledding from the top of the hill, and what appears to be fun and games for everyone in the fields open 24/7. At this point the idea crosses your shivering and wet mind, that perhaps.... while cold indeed, this place has its own magical qualities, and you may actually enjoy your stay in here.
