Mid Level 2: Sports Bar / Cantina
Loud talking, shouting and cheering, the smell of alcohol and various “finger foods,” wisps of smoke hanging in the air, semi-darkness lit by florescent colored lights, dancers…and who can forget the band? Yes, nearly immediately the surroundings are recognizable…after all, who doesn’t know a cantina when they see one?
The lift had slid open to show a very large room filled with people milling about. The smoke had drifted about through the air, people blocked your view, the instant sound from the relative silence of the lift had been almost deafening, but it had clearly been a bar if ever there’d been one. Stepping out of the lift and into the throng, it became much easier to recognize just what kind of place this was…a sports bar! The previously hidden screens affixed high on the walls made that clear as they showed all manner of races and team sports.
Moving through the crowd the bar can be seen at last. It’s a large oval island in the middle of the room that stands our clearly with its many colored lights illuminating the various bottles that stocked its shelves. Several bar tenders move busily around behind the counter, mixing drinks, taking credits, getting orders for the fairly small selection of food served down here, and sending drinks along their ways with the various serving girls and droids. Many tables and chairs are scattered about near the bar, booths lining the walls near by.
Bypassing the bar, the other half of the room also holds a few tables and chairs for occupants, but it seems that this section holds the majority of the ‘fun and games’ for those spending their time here. Card games, dice games, betting tables for the various sports, a small cage fighting ring…you name it, it’s likely there. Along the wall, the band is settled on a section of the long stage while dancing girls of all kinds (from twi’lek, zeltron, human…in cages and out) occupy the rest of the stage. For the more adventurous…or perhaps drunk…attendees in the room, there is also a medium sized dance floor settled in front of the stage.
Over all, the atmosphere is fairly laid back.
…Might be a decent place to spend time.
