Lvl 1: Observation deck
Carpeted with rich colors of reds, golds, blues, and greens, the moment one steps onto the observation deck (the very top of the space station) from the lift most are overcome with a feeling of romanticism. The metal, for the most part, has been obscured by marble, material, and synth-wood to give it a classic and classy feel. Small tables are scattered around the center of the two level dome with short benches made for couples lining the outer edged of the lower half. The beautifully spiraled staircase leads the wanderer up to a smaller venue closer still to the stars, the entirely transparisteel dome lending a feel of being alone and completely surrounded by the stars.
The entire dome, upper and lower, is dotted with small potted flowers and plants, as well as slightly larger potted fichus trees that are dotted with small white lights. The dome is very softly lit, just enough illumination coming from the sconces affixed to the staircase and upper level to allow people to walk easily, but not outshine the stars they are surrounded by. Below them the multi-toned planet of Zeltros floats, almost serenely, below the observer. Soft, gentle, music plays in the background, though it is played low enough to be nothing more than a soothing sound on the edge of the visitor’s awareness. A small café counter is nestled along one side of the observation deck, and the rich aroma of brewing caf wafts through the air, mingling pleasantly with the scent of flowers.
In this almost surreal atmosphere of relaxation and peace, it isn’t difficult to understand why it is seen as the most romantic section of the station. Many couples, young and old alike, still come to this place to spend a few quiet moments together and look at the stars or have a relaxing conversation. It is also little surprise that many individuals come here to have a few moment alone with their thoughts, or even to find another to have a quiet conversation with…some have even found love here. No matter who you are, or why you come, however, it is unlikely that you will leave this place unchanged…even if it is only for the moment.
Lvl 2: The Grand Ballroom
As one can imagine the floor that holds the grand ballroom is undoubtedly the most opulent floor of the station.
Stepping off the lift, one would find themselves immediately greeted by handsome zeltrons in well pressed uniforms, willing to take your hats, bags, coats, or whatever else you might wish to stow away safely until your return. As they clear your view, the grandeur of the place begins to fully seep in...
The floor of the hall is completely marble tiled, the walls lined with "glass windows" that shine in daylight or evening starlight according to the station's day/night cycle...the gardens beyond the panes of glass only holograms set for aesthetic appeal. Lushly cushioned seats also line the walls interspersed with small palm plants that lend a bit of life and the exotic to the hallways. Following along the hall, one might look up to notice the crystal chandeliers that light the way, and send glittering light along the walls, rainbow dots of color during the 'day', and sparkling glimmers during the 'night'.
Set into the walls of the long, curving, corridor, are ornately carved (REAL) wooden doors. If one chanced a peek into one of the open doors, they would likely see a variety of warmly colored sitting rooms where guests may come to gather in small groups. A small intercom is built into one of the walls so that the people within may call for services such as food and drinks, which will be swiftly delivered by one of the many well dressed zeltron staff members.
Entering back into the main hall, one would eventually find their way to a large set of double doors, thrown wide to allow entry and welcome all into the Grand Ballroom.
The room itself takes up the majority of the level, and so it is easy to say that it is, indeed, a GRAND ballroom. The three leveled ballroom is embellished with gold leaf ornamentation, the ceiling painted with images of men and women feasting and dancing as well as deities of the many races throughout the galaxy, and the floor is a beautiful combination of colored tiles set to make intricate designs. Settled at the front of the ballroom is a good sized stage, designed for either plays or musicians, which (aside from the dance floor obviously) is the focal point of the ballroom. Written along the top of the stage is the phrase "Bid me discourse. I will enchant thine ear." On the bottom level of the room, nestled into one wall, is a long line of snack and drink bars that open during the times the ballroom is being used as a theater, yet when the floor is open for dancing many of the staff for the level can be seen milling about through the crowd, offering various refreshments to the dancers. The levels above can be accessed by several small stairways that open out into many small "box" seating areas that are furnished with seats and benches with plush cushions.
At 9am, 12pm, and 6pm one finds that the ballroom's many tables are set out across the dance floor so that those in attendance may eat the gourmet foods that so many of society's highest have come to expect. Well prepared by a team of highly qualified chefs, the zeltron's hunger for rich foods is not to be outdone here by any means. Nearly anything one might desire can be ordered and it's unlikely they will be disappointed in the flavors and textures their food holds. The smell of many different styles of food float about the air and into the halls and surrounding rooms at these times, calling out to those not in attendance with their mouthwatering scents.
Between meal times, the floor is cleared of it's tables aside from a few lining the outer edges for tired or...unwilling...dancers to occupy. It's always been a toss up on what one might do between meals, as there is never really a set plan on when a play or some other entertainment might be occupying the stage (and the audience)...or when the dancing might be occurring. The only thing that isn't a toss up is that those attending will likely find their time well spent...or at least entertaining.
