He tried to remain in the defensive, since he had just arrived, but was still going to reveal his plans. [glow=Green,2,300]Yes, I am aware of that. Weary Padawans will be easy targets. Jedi Masters and Sith Lords are not. Anyone who have seen them in action will tell you, fellow senators, that they are almost invincible. And, even not seeing one of these droids acting, I know, that trained Force-users will easily beat them.[/glow]He then took something from his pocket with a smirk. Maybe thatT would surprise them. He placed a holo-disc in the socket and a big, blue image appeared floating infront of them. It circled through various pictures of an arid planet and an eel-like creature. [glow=Green,2,300]Gentleman, there times in the past, when nature and machinery were blended together. During the Clone Wars, Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kit Fisto went to a planet on the Outer-Rim named Ord Cestus. They were assigned to shut down the production of a bio-droid known only as the JK droids. These droids were different from others for they had installed, in the core of their main-body section, a sentient being.[/glow]He stopped for a moment, and took a deep breath.[glow=Green,2,300]The Dashta eels, as they are called, were force-sensitive beings, and they granted powers never imagined before to the JK droids. The droids could actually anticipate the moves of the opponent. The JKs were only security droids. Imagine if this technology was implemented on battle droids such as these.[/glow]He gave a victory smirk[glow=Green,2,300]If we used this technology, we would surely gain an advantage on the Jedi and Sith.[/glow]He stopped talking, but left the hologram on, and hoped that the other senators would understand what he meant.

Fark thought about Senator Aiken statement and then started speaking. [glow=Green,2,300]Yes, Senator, but if we send them to Taris now, they would certainly be destroyed. All of them. And that would be a waste of thousands if not millions of credits.[/glow] Then he thought about the Senator of Dantooine's statement, and replied. [glow=Green,2,300]Yes, certainly, senator.[/glow]He said, turning to the Senator of Dantooine.[glow=Green,2,300]But we must first discover the intentions of the Jedi.[/glow] ((OOC: Sorry if all of this is a bit confusing))

Does this estiemed Seantor Have a plan for gathering the Dashta Eels? They are rare and may be wiped out by now. I have compleat faith in the Drids that are built so far. Teh design is near perfect and these droids seem to put your JK dorids in the dust if i might say. But... We could authorize mulitpal models. One best fitted for hunting skilled hiders, one for wise fighters, and one for skilled combat artists... But that brings us full circle. We must test these droids before assumptions can be made or plans for that matter.

Now Aiken got worried, his gift form the unkown person was being messed with by others. BEing changed by them and he was losing face badly, he had to act fast and make sure his plan was used first. and well enough that the upgrades might be only used for tough kills.
Senator Fark that would be Ideal for us. But do you think we could harvets these Eels, get them to the Droid manfuaturer, build the new version of Droids and still be able to get to Kashyyk in time to fight these jedi? He waited to let the impact of the itmeline that was before the Senate sink in totally then ocntinued.
The Simple facts are these, we are on a Time table here and you all know it. those upgrades would be great. And will be of a Great Use in the future. But we are not in the Future right now. We are here and now. there are 20 of these Droids fully functional and awaiting payment only to go on their mission. I do not want to step on any toes here, but until we can even see if they work well to begin with we can not think about buying upgrades yet. Let us see if we can have the orginial work well before upgrades. And i do not think the extra costs of getting those upgrades need to be mentioned any furthur. Time is not our Ally now Senators it is our enemy as well as the Jedi and Sith.
Aiken hated to do that, but he had no other choice now. He was sticking up for his prestige now. He was fighting for his political life on his first day.

[glow=Green,2,300]As I said, it is a difficult decision to make. But I assure you, the Jedi will not leave Kashyyyk soon. They lack the supplies and the will. But if you must, test the droids and dispatch them to the Wookie World. I am, ahead of things. I have a contact in Ord Cestus, that will haul a shipment of those eels to here, at my expense, of course. He's just waiting for my command. And, time will be matched, I can assure you the ships have very fast hyperdrive units.[/glow]He said with a grim

Aiken looked quizzicly at Senator Fark wondering if he too had a contact with the Droid builders. this was very strange indeed. Something was amiss here, but he did not knwo what it was.
I am not determined to test them. But i do think you underestimate the JEdi resolve. I was on coruscant when it fell to the Sith. The Jedi can do many things when faced with adversity and trouble. And they can do even more when they feel in danger. And they will feel it soon. I assure you they will not stay there long at all. If the Majority of the Jedi are there then we must attack and test soon. they will face Masters and Knights alike. Even Padawons are stronger then you think. If the padawons survived that battle thye are worthy. But i digress, i have made my points to the best of my ability to all of you senators. I put in your hands to make the right decision for the Fate of the Republic. The Fate of all of us if we fail the people that put us here.
With that his platform floated back into its spot. He could not go any furthur wihtout revealing things he could not reveal at this time. He was the rookie here and hoepfully by bowing out of the debate he could keep alot of the points he made early on by simply being a part of the debate and proposing the Droids to begin with.

I am glad you agree with me on this point senator, I will support the upgrades in the future and even hoast factories to ensure these machines are compleated to defend our people. With every moment we lose time, tiem to test our machines. I vote we launch these droide post haste. Then we can gather data to prefest our Dorids. But first we must have jedi to test on and now is our chance.
He had made his point then he would use any leverave he had gained for one more act
And on a seccond motion, these droids are a huge responcibality for the Republic. I suggest a commition be made to govern the acts of these droids to make sure they dont become to powerfull to controll. They are strong and could be used agains us. I will draft the commision myself and put it to test.

Aiken heard this motion and immediatly seconded it.
I concur Seantor. ANd if you wouwld allow me to be on that commitee with you it would honor me greatly.
this is where his contact told him he had to be. He had to get on a commitee regarding the Droids. for they woudl succedd and the Sith and Jedi will fall to them in time. but he needed to be on board from the beginning.

He realised he could not win the whole battle. [glow=Green,2,300]Then I must agree. If you speak the truth, Senator Aiken, then test these droids and send them to fight the Jedi if they're worth it. This should buy us some time. Time to arrange all preparations as to upgrades and commitions. So tell me, may I call my contact? And if I may, I'd like to be part of the commitee too.[/glow]

Aiken nodded to Senator Fark out of respect. He snet a messegae to his consule.
"Contact them and have them send the Eels to the outer rim. have them transmit on this frequancy to get a hold of the builders. Then they will be told where to go."
Aiken sighed but did not change the expression on his face. He knew if these Droids succedded he ould become powerful but if they failed so woudl he. He was putting alot of trust in someone he never met.

Fark sensed that Aiken trusted him, but wasn't sure about it. [glow=Green,2,300]I thank you, Senator Aiken, for your consideration.[/glow] He turned around and talked to his assistant. [glow=Green,2,300]Do what he said.[/glow]He whispered. [glow=Green,2,300]The eels should be there in no time.[/glow] He said, smiling, and turning backto the senators.

Aiken was typing into his terminal constantly but his hands were the only thing moving. his body was still as he watched someone else enter the Arena and bring up the topic of Paying for these droids. He was sending the instructions to his assistant who then followed them to the letter.
I disagree with taxing Tax routes. That is what started a War long ago. I suggest another strategy first if i may and use that as a last resort.
Then the assistant leaned over and said something in his ear, but Aiken did not move a muscle as he listened to both the discussion and the assiassitant.

He noticed the new discution forming up. [glow=Green,2,300]If I may[/glow]he started[glow=Green,2,300]I will pay for the droids and the Dashtas and the upgrades.[/glow] he said it, quietly. He knew that if he paid for the droids, there would be empathy towards him. From the senators and the people. Of course, he'd make sure his actions would appear in every holo-news show.

Aiken looked over at Fark and smirked, good ploy. Then he will be on any commitee as well. This was indeed a different arena then local politics.
I am afriad i should ask this Senate to not allow any of us no matter how wealthy to avoid any finaincial input from anyof us. We should keep the contorl in the Private sector. If any one of us has personal contorl over them then they may get contorl over them also. I for one want no one person in charge of an army that might take out Jedi and Sith.
Hopefully that would end that for any of the senators gaining to much power or influence over this droid issue. He had to keep this issue down to his level if he could. And smiled over at Senator Fark. As a big eruption ensued over a Senator gaining control over an army great enough to destroy Jedi if it worked.

He saw Aiken had determination, but he needed to keep his job. [glow=Green,2,300]You seen, to have misunderstood me, Senator. I shall pay for them, but my power will not be greater than anyone inside the commitee. I assure you. My intentions are for the good of the Galaxy. As you said, taxes caused a war in the past, and we must not take this risk again. [/glow]He smirked and looked firmly to Senator Aiken. Fark knew he had to maintain his image.

Aiken knew that was coming, and was thinking of ways around it the whoel time. Of course he would paly it off as if he would just put out the money with no benfits.
In that case senator why not instead purchase a Star Cruiser. they are cheaper and no one will expect you to fly it or fire the weapons either. More seriously though My Feloow Senators, if any ONE of us puts the money for this, project the people who build them will have to bow to their wishes, it is the tradition of the private sector. The one who pyas the bills makes the Rules. We Can not put the trust of our fates in any one hand, money, military, or any way again. Power corrupts, and absolute Power Corrupts Abusolutly. WE have seen this far too often in our lifetimes. WE must find an alterantive to this matter.
Aiken hoped that would end Farks attempts but he doubted it. this cat and mouse game will go on for a while. However he knew too that he was gaining influence already. Some of the Seantors wuold shsuh right away whenever he spoke. this was turning out to bea very good day so far.

Fark got irritated by Aiken's response. He knew he had to gain power in this New Senate. Influence was gold. [glow=Green,2,300]First of all, Senator, a Star Cruiser is far more expensive than 20 droids, and it is not a discrete thing, what would surely end our plans.[/glow]He meant this as some kind of joke.[glow=Green,2,300]And, as a proof of my good intentions, I shall stay away from the commitee if needed, or ask that you and Senator Vskois receive extra powers in this matter.[/glow]He was determined to win, but he knew that sometimes victory is not good if the cost is greater than it. He knew that if he insisted too much, he'd pass an image of power-greedy man.

Maybe i am the one who is misunderstanding the situation. These 20 droids are bein gprovided for at no cost. Simply as a trial run by them, if they fail then we need not order more. I was referring ot the overall cost of if we BUY more of them. I apologise for any problems there. These are giffts in hopes of the Republic buying thousnads perhaps to rid the Galaxy of Jedi and Sith. That is the power i want to stay away from. that will be more expensive then purchasing a Star Cruiser. This si the sitauation we must avoid at all costs.
the chatter begin again quickly at the numbers i sent out to each Senator as to the actual costs of a single droid as is now. 50K/each and if we ask for upgrades it will cost much more.

((OOC: Sorry, I got a little confused))
Fark realised again, that he could not win the battle anymore. His move didn't go so well. If he said he could afford it, then he would be the greedy man. [glow=Green,2,300]Good then, leave it be. Our people should not suffer with our war intents, so my offer towards the upgrades still stands. If the Senate does not aprove me helping with more units, then I say send them to Kashyyyk, so we shall see how they fare against these Jedi. Let Fate decide what will be of these poor droids.[/glow]

Do no tget me wrong Senator Fark. Your offer is truly appreciatated. And i would also like to nominate you for the committee on regualtating the Droids. We need men who will be strong and make their stands count when they are needed most and you are such a man.
Aiken thought he did quite well on this matter as well. He offered to help the man he just defeated in a minor scurmish and made sure he was praised for his actions as well. If he would allow himself to girn he woud have. But he had to maintian the compusore and power he was gaining in the Senate as a rookie.
All he had to do was make sure he got on the comittee to regualte them and hope they were as good as he was told.
