The forests of Naboo

A lone Jedi Master ran through the forests of Naboo like a deer leaping across the trees. This Jedi was occupied with an assignment divided in three parts. The first part was to search and destroy a secret weapons cacge hidden on this planet. This cache may have connections to the neo-political group, considered by some to be the re-birth of COMPNOR, which believed and promoted human racial superiority to all other alien races. The Clone Soldiers were taking care of that. The second part, possibly the easiest, was given to Jedi Master Kalo Darken. That was to reassure the Queen of the Jedi's presence here by reporting her of the Jedi's aims here. The third and most important was the Jedi Master now running among the forests, Moroku Taiemo. His job was to negotiate with the Gungans to persuade them to stay within the Republic. If he failed, civil war would surely escalate. The Queen preferred to stay in the Republic, arguing that Naboo's union with it had preserved peace for thousands of years on this planet. The Gungans believe that peace will soon shatter like broken glass. It was Moroku's duty not to let that happen.
The Jedi Master had submitted his entire consciousness to the Force, letting his feelings and thoughts dissolve and mix in its great sea to let it control Moroku's thoughts and movements, to let its waves take him to where he needed to be now: Otah Gunga. Ever since the incident with the Trade Federation centuries ago, the Gungans have hidden themselves deeper underneath the planet's crust to prevent any invaders from reaching them. Moroku was not invading, though. He was visiting. Jedi do not take over planets by force, and Moroku would not persuade the Gungans to stay with the Republic using his powers, for that would mean forcing them to stay, however subconsciously they would agree with him. Right now, the Jedi ran with the speed of light as the Force had taken his soul, feelings and movement as its own, using it as a toy, an extension of its will.
After hours of running, Moroku stopped at the edge of a small pond. One would never think this is the place where the Gungans were hidden, but this was exactly why the Gungans had chosen this pond. It did not attract the attention of explorers and others. This was the right place. Moroku was still as fresh as a ose. The Force had controlled his movements, not himself. Tiredness was a remote part of him when working in tandem with the higher energy. He lept off as if thrown high into the air, the Force playing with his body, spinning like a wheel and flipping two and ah half times, rasing his hands above, or more accurately below, his head as he finished his flips to fall head first into the pond. Entering the water, Moroku grabbed his aquata breather and placed on his mouth to breath normally as the mechanical systems of the breather ook in oxygen from the water the same way the gills of a fish would, and swam down, down, down. What seemed like hours of swimming but were in fact several minutes, light could be seen beneath an outcropping. There is was, Otah Gunga. Slowly, Moroku made his way to the city of the watery society.

The dropship landed with a soft thud.
Dix turned his head and looked at each of his team-mates one by one, nodding silently to each of them. They were familiy. No, closer than familiy, and there were no need for any words.
Revving the engine of his BARC speeder, Dix hit the accelerator just as the exit hatch opened, launching his bike out into the misty swamps of Naboo.
With similar movements, the other four members of his elite commando team followed him on their bikes.
Though noisy, the BARC speeders allowed them to traverse the marshy terrain easily and quickly, an asset when their enemy most likely already knew they were coming.
The commandos took the speeders to the location designated on the mission maps as RZ-Alpha.
Once there, twenty-odd kilometres from their drop-point, the commandos swiftly dismounted and camoflauged their speeders.
Dix pulled off his helmet, resting it under his arm while he looked at the others.
[glow=green,2,300]Alright, set up camp here. We'll wait for nightfall. Boomer, start a perimeter search, Tam, Zerk, set up the poly-tarps.[/glow]
The poly-tarps were a miracle of engineering. Thin and light, they nonetheless contained poly-filialament fibres that changed colour to camoflage with their surroundings.
Dix walked towards Anna, his boots squishing softly in the marshy surface. He rested a hand on her shoulderplate.
[glow=green,2,300]Anna, I want you to get dinner started. We should eat something hot on the trail for once.[/glow]
Dix smiled and went over to their weapons stores to check, for the fifth time, the status of their weaponry.
[glow=green,2,300]We'll start scouting for the cache once it's dark.[/glow]

Several hours later...
Dix and team had worked their way deep into the swamps of Naboo. They were close to their target.
Dix caught something on the wind. Quickly, he made a motion with his hand - 'down' - and his team slipped underneath the waist-deep water, their suits automatically sealing air-tight.
Katarn-class armour is capable of supporting life for upto an hour in a vacuum. When submersed in water, filters in the helmet are able to extend this period to up to an hour and a half by drawing oxygen from the liquid.
It was a scouting party. Humans, dressed in mottled armour and carrying heavy repeaters. Wading through the same water as Dix and his team, Dix was understandably nervous.
Though he knew they wouldn't be able to hear him, he held his breath anyway.
As the patrol passed, the Roughnecks rose silently from the water. Dix quietly extended his wrist-mounted vibroblade, and ripped it through the throat of the nearest sentry. Anna, Tam, Zerk and Boomer did likewise with the others.
[glow=green,2,300]We've got to move quickly now. No knowing when they'll be missed.[/glow]
Letting the dead soliders slip into the murk, the team of commandos moved out into the darkness.
(tired... will write more either later today or Saturday...)

The squad reached the cache.
It was guarded by humans dressed much the same as the mercs they'd killed before.
[glow=green,2,300]Rangefinder says it's fifteen hundred metres away. You hit that, Boomer?[/glow]
"Well, if I had the Jast DX-55, Lieutenant. All I got on me's the decee's anti-armour attachment. Hafta be within thirty for that to be effective."
[glow=green,2,300]Any closer and we're visible from that clearing. I'm spotting E-Web heavy repeaters there. We're not equipped to go up against that kinda arsenal.
I need options, people.[/glow]

Zerk looked at his CO. "Jance and I could work our way around to the other side of the camp, make a distraction, then you and the others could swoop in a torch the place while they're dealing with us."
Dix nodded.
[glow=green,2,300]Good idea, but I need you to set the demo charges. Tam can lead the diversion.[/glow]
The Zabrak Sergant nodded. "We're on it, chief. See you in a bit."
The two commandos slipped off into the night.
The other three Roughnecks lay in wait. Half an hour or so later, Dix's comm crackled.
We're in position, Dix. Waiting for your mark.
Dix smiled underneath his helmet.
[glow=green,2,300]Make some noise, Tam.[/glow]
Suddenly, the night exploded. Dix saw and hear the lighting quick succession of Anna's sniper rounds, followed with the concussive tattoo of Tama Zend's repeater shots.
The diversion worked. The guards watching the cache moved off towards the sound, trying to pin Dix's comrades down.
[glow=green,2,300]Move out![/glow]
The other three moved towards the weapon stash, Boomer and Dix providing cover for Zerk, while the Duros set the timer of the charge. Once they crossed the distance to the cache, in plain view and bright light, They crouched low, wary.
Zerk wasted no time setting the charge.
"It's a big stash, Sir. I'll need to place additional charges."
[glow=green,2,300]Do it quickly, Corporal.[/glow]
They moved around the cache, working furiously to get the job done before they were noticed.
Just as they were placing the last charge, Dix heard, over his shoulder someone shout: "HEY! YOU THERE!"
[glow=green,2,300]Firfek![/glow]
Dix cursed under his breath.
Both he and Boomer quickly took aim, sighting carfully and, with a light squeeze on the firing stud, sent two bolts right through the target's chest.
But more were coming.
[glow=green,2,300]Quickly, Zerk![/glow]
"Almost there..."
A shot, then another.
[glow=green,2,300]There's no time![/glow]
"Almost there..."
[glow=green,2,300]Corporal! We've got to go! Now![/glow]
"Got it!"
[glow=Green,2,300]To the RZ! MOVE![/glow]
Tama and Jance burst out of the trees, raining death amongst their enemies while Dix, Boomer and Zerk fought their way through the ever-increasing hoarde of soldiers towards their exit point.
They met up somewhere in the middle of the clearing. As they ran, Dix pulled out the remote that would detonate the charges.
[glow=green,2,300]Skywalker, this is Dix. I need evac ASAP. Over.[/glow]
Copy, Roughneck. We've got your signal. Sending a retrieval boat now.
[glow=green,2,300]Copy that, Skywalker. Be warned, the LZ is hot. Repeat, the LZ is hot.[/glow]
At this point, Dix depresses the button, sending the ammo dump sky-high.
Thanks for the warning, Lieutenant, we'll get you home safe.
The blast had killed many of the enemy, but there were still more.
The five commandos hunkered down, sending bolt after bolt into them.
Once, during the fighting, one soldier charged the commandos like a mad-man. Jance took him out with a well placed shot that shot the helmet right off of his head, revealing not the face of a scruffy human, but a Zabrak with deep facial tattoos.
Dix wasn't even sure if he saw it, it happened so quickly.
During the evac in the LAAT, however, the Lieutenant was able to get a bird's-eye view of the corpse and it was, indeed, a Zabrak.
[glow=green,2,300]Interesting...[/glow]
"What is, Sir?" Jance asked, hand on his shoulder.
Dix shook his head and smiled.
[glow=green,2,300]Nothing, Anna. Nothing at all...[/glow]
The newly-promoted Lance Corporal shook her head and smiled wryly. "I know you too well: You lie horribly, Dix." But she let it drop.
[glow=white,2,300]Skywalker, this is Red Five. I've got them, and we're coming home.[/glow]
We've got the lights on, Red Five. I'll let the Generals know. They've been worried.

OOC: The Gungans have made peace with the Naboo, just so you know. They're not gonna make war against anyone if that's what you're thinking.

OOC; haven't we already been through this? Ignore Yasser's posts! That war took place like 4 years ago RP time. Ignore it. That war is over and done with. The Sith and General Zoth long gone. I even deleted the post just to show that it doesn't matter anymore. Next time, look at the date the post was made. Yasser did that post nearly a year ago. Read the plot reviews. I can see that you haven't done any background reading.
